Want to make a career change but unsure where to start? Finding it hard to maintain the elusive "work-life balance"? Struggling with navigating difficult interpersonal conflicts at work? Recovering from a painful breakup or divorce and looking to improve your self-care routine? Feeling stressed and overwhelmed in general and looking for tools to help manage your day to day life? Is there a big goal that you set but are having difficulty getting started, keeping going or finishing what you need to in order to achieve the goal? I can help. My priority is to offer a non-judgmental, comfortable and fun approach to care.
Yes, I treat the traditional clinical conditions of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. I also understand that the symptoms of all of these conditions can be exacerbated by other factors in our lives. What are our relationships like? What are our lifestyle choices like? What are we eating? How are we sleeping? How do we feel about ourselves? All of the answers to these questions play into what will provide the best treatment plan for you. It’s not just about medication.
Hi, I’m Lee Lee Milner and I would be honored to work with you.
My first priority is creating a non-judgmental space for every client that I work with. If you don't trust me or feel comfortable with me, we won't get very far together. I will spend our first session together (all 90 minutes of it) asking you as many questions as possible in order to get to know you better. Then, together, we will create a treatment plan for you. It’s up to you whether that includes medication or not. I may recommend it, but that does not mean you have to take it right away. Through our sessions together, we will work on getting to the root cause of what is causing your suffering. We often get blocked and held back by old feelings and repeated patterns of behavior. I will help you recognize these patterns, draw awareness to them, and provide you with tools to help you move forward and break the patterns.
If it’s important to know what I look like on paper, then here is a brief C.V: I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Colorado College, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from New York University, and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Hunter College Graduate School of Nursing in Manhattan. I have worked in psychiatry for 10 years, first as a psychiatric RN, then as an NP. I spent many years working with the underserved populations of NYC, doing crisis work and home outreach with dual diagnosis clients of all ages. I also served as Adjunct Clinical Faculty at New York University, teaching nursing students therapeutic communication. I have worked in private practice in NYC for the last four years, though the last two years I have seen clients in my private practice remotely via telepsychiatry. I have spent years studying meditation, yoga, mindfulness, CBT, motivational interviewing, therapeutic writing, attachment theory, and various pyschoanalytic theories. I use a blend of all of this knowledge as well as the tool of medication in our work together. My greatest teacher however, has been my own healing process. My lessons from my own life have allowed me to grow in an invaluable way, which allos me to offer more to my clients in our work together.
I am a native Memphian, a 7th generation-er and a graduate of Hutchison School. I am happy to have returned home where I can share what I have learned with my clients here and hopefully with others in the medical community here in Memphis.
My sessions with Lee Lee are invaluable, both for my personal and professional life. She's helped me figure out how I got to where I am and to define where I want to go. Lee Lee knows just when to push and when to encourage a little more grace in my life. Equally important, she's funny and instantly made me feel comfortable. I feel lucky to have found her. -K.
In the time that Lee Lee and I have been working together, she has become a rock in my life. She is an accepting and compassionate person with a kind and warm manner. Her care feels highly personal. She is incredibly adaptive while still guiding; she tailors her style to fit the individual and offers additional tools such as books, articles, workshops, etc. She always seems to know the best solution for each situation. Lee Lee has made a lasting impact on the way I approach my life and it is better because of her. -B.
A constant encourager and supporter, Lee Lee is helping me to focus on the important things in my life. I'm guilty of getting caught up in the hustle of everyday life, and Lee Lee gives me great perspective, helping me look at one area of my life and really focus on improving it. I can't wait to see what the future holds in my journey with her. -P
